The footage to gather

  1. Raw material
  2. The distinctive finishing step
  3. The piece being used

Give each moment a little breathing room. Get close enough to show the detail, and keep the original clips handy.

Plan a standalone short episode

Opening

Begin with a question the episode will actually answer.

Middle

Keep the essential action visible and use captions that make sense outside the full series.

Ending

Deliver the answer before inviting the next episode.

Review it for handmade brands

Do not speed up a process in a way that misrepresents how it is made.

Ask yourself: Does this episode make sense to someone who has never seen the channel?

Watch it as if you were seeing it for the first time. If something is unclear, try a different cut or add the missing shot.
